Blowing Hot and Cold
I believe saxophone sales surged after the last one was released. Did it inspire you to take up the sax, Miss Scarlet, in your apple-cheeked girlhood?
Now you've done it.It's only a matter of time before CyberPoof starts showing up in a peroxide wig and singing "Call Me".
LOL! at MJ.But I love Baker Street. Every time I hear it, it takes me right back to springtime in the late 70s.Did you know that Gerry Rafferty has recently disappeared?
Ah, Debs, she was just right for every reason (whatever the feck that means). Tears For Fears were a good act, but, with all respect to your former boyfriend, how hard can it be being their roadie - two slimline Korg synthesizers and a couple of cables? ;-)
That should complete Pete's education nicely! What's all this about Gerry Rafferty vanishing?
Oh Scarlet - you have really set me up for the week. The wonderful Ms Harry. I am a huge fan....never got to see them live back in the old days, but have seen them live in Harrogate the past two years. Absolutely the best gigs I have ever been to in my life ever!Shall post my favourites numbers on m'blog shortly.
Oh Debbie Harry ... who didn't want to be as cool as that Miss Scarlet? Inspired the whole peroxide blonde phase. Great start to the week.
I don't think that yellow dress is my favourite Debbie outfit.Baker Street - yeah - why does it always do it every time?
GB: I'm still in my apple cheeked girlhood, Mr bananas...Luos: High pressure blower or industrial blower... decisions, decisions... MJ: I think Pete is wrapped up with Kim Wilde at the moment. He needs educating... between us hopefully we can sort him out... perhaps steer him away from the yellow frock though...Ginro: Baker Street always reminds me of hot dusty days in the City. Moody. No, I didn't know Gerry Rafferty had disappeared... I shall look into it.Gadj: I was a huge TFF fan... not a word against them, do you hear... former boyfriend was also a roadie for Kajagoogoo.. but let's not talk about that..Dave: Thank you. I hope it helps to liven up Monday morning.Dotts: I'm looking into the missing Rafferty problem... will get back to you...Lizzie and Kate: I wish I'd seen her live. She was an influence on my choice of hair colour... I toned it down after it turned to orange straw [worse than ginger!] and nearly all fell out. Live and learn... Always go to a professional if you want a radical change.Kaz: No, not the best choice of frock. And doesn't she have narrow shoulders? Maybe she should have gone to Luos... he seems to be well stocked.I was a little flippant to Luos on another blog. Sorry Luos...Sx01 December 2008 11:32
I can't see it with sound at work, I'll have to check it out when I get home. However big hair, lit up from behind and tiny microphone - I love it already!
Pete Thought you might!Sx
Oh, and (still re your ex-boyfriend's roadie job) I bet he just had to carry in a bottle of chilled Alsace Grand Cru or maybe a nice Australian Chardonney rather than the usual crate of Jack Daniels. No disrespect meant! (Kajagoogoo are another matter though).
Scarlet you need to hold a Monday Jukebox Christmas Party round here one day. I'll bring the cheese and pineapple hedgehog and some punch.
CyberPoof said, "big hair, lit up from behind and tiny microphone - I love it already!"See what I mean! And yes, he does need our help.
Gadj: Do you know my ex-boyfriend? He was rather partial to the odd crate of Jack Daniels! JD and Lemonade... find it a bit sweet these days though...Jade: Cheese and pineapple hedgehog! Slightly earlier times though... What did we eat in the eighties? Did we eat...? Ah, I remember thinking that Chicken Kiev was pretty sophisticated...MJ: It's going to take time, patience and kindness... but we can rebuild him...Sx
I like that song but the video is stealing the show. The fact that she holds the tiny microphone with both hands and that she's got so much hairspray in her hair that it doesn't have natural movement. At all.Fabulous!
Pete: I used to get through a can of hairspray a day.. and a can of lip-gloss...SxSnow alert!!! Must get my muff out.
Ooooh isn't that a luscious lullaby?I must confess that my fascination with TforF was ignited the first time that I heard Pale Shelter..still in my top ten of all time. They seemed to possess a little more gravitas than all the trendy New Wavers even though I deplored Primal Scream..unless Iggy Pop was doin' the screaming.Thank You Darling BlueXX OO
post comment..what up with luos? Is he a bot or a catalogue junkie who needs to make a wholesale switch to decaf?
brilliant song choices. . .Baker Street was the third 7' (single*) ever to make it into my early teenage bedroom. . .(*had to put that bit in brackets in, in case Mr Bananananananas got carried away with his double entendres)
No-one has the right to look so beautiful and be so cool.
Why dont people like Luos ever show up on my blog - I have several readers you know...also. Why don;t I have any blog followers? Also, I saw Blondie in about 1981 in Leicester or possibly Derby, I prefer Lily Allen.....
You must have looked - as you still do - fabulous!
Mr Coppens: Funny you should mention Pale Shelter - because I very nearly got carried away and was going to play that one as well - I'll save it for next week.Poor Luos, he is misguided.I Like: Thank you! Yep, you are quite right, Mr Bananas needs little encouragement.Pat: I know Pat, I'm gorgeous... Oh, you meant Debbie...Mutts: You have to switch your followers on, Mutts.Don't encourage Luos, his comments are getting longer and longer.Pete: Thank you Pete.. and I no longer use hairspray... I make do with bleach...Sx
Ah, my misspent youth :)
Cakes: Much better than an un-misspent youth ;o)I have word veri: misti ...as in play Misti for me... cheeky thing!Sx
