Jukebox Monday

First up, for Mr Beastie, because we . . . erm love his Love Action [?] and also for Daphne because she's back! This video is possibly another lost episode of Eastenders . . .

Second up is for Mr Coppens to wish him a speedy recovery from his recent operation . . .

And finally this is for all those suffering from seasonal bugs . . .

Beast is more Mungo Jerry than Jerry Lee Lewis. Remember to play 'In the Summertime' for him when it's summer, Miss Scarlet.

My dear Scarlet, I feel left out. . . . yet not defeated.

Beast needs a kick up the arse.

Not our sympathies.

And Champ?

I am always there for you.

Mr Bananas , how odd , Mungo Jerry used to live over the road from me. He had a red phonebox in his garden(With no phone in it).
Anyways thank you Miss Scarlet , who doesnt like a bit of love action on a monday .
Miss MJ is being smarmy to the champ

The first one must be Nicholas Cage. Or his lost twin. Scary.

Love the Peggy Lee song.

I'm afraid I haven't got time to watch them. But I'm sure they're lovely.

Mr GB: Come Summer [does Summer exist?], I will play 'Summertime'... but perhaps not 'In the summertime'....

Mr Champ: What would you like me to play? I'm taking requests for next Monday. All suggestions welcome... but I do have the final say....

MJ: Beastie washed his duvet for the first time this year. This, I feel, needs to be celebrated. Plus he's just re-stocked with hobnobs. A bit of sucking up shouldn't go amiss...

Mr Beastie: There is a telephone box near to where I live that is grade II listed. Somebody from the council comes around to piss in it once a week to keep it authentic...

Pete: The first one is The Human League. Big in the eighties. At the time Phil Oakey was something of a heartthrob...
Yep, I love the Peggy Lee track too...

Dave: That's okay Dave... or just listen to them as background noise...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm - Philip Oakey!
And there's you and Arthur at the end.

PI said...

The three are great. I didn't know the first dishy one.
They say you get the face you deserve - see Jerry Lee Lewis.

scarlet-blue said...

Kaz: I know... I had a poster by my bed... and several of my boyfriends had the same haircut and so nobody was any the wiser when I used to cry out 'Phil... OMG Phil...'
Poor Arthur...

Pat:...and poor Jerry. I love this track. I have many happy memories attached to it. It would be in my all-time top ten.

He was?

You are kidding!

scarlet-blue said...

Pete: Are we watching the same video?? I must admit though, that it's a bit odd that he keeps sniffing his armpit...

It's the man in the ugly denim outfit looking down at the couple getting married, right?

May I just say, thank god I am not a woman and got married in the 80s.

I don't see the heartthrob

... and the groom wore almost as much eyeliner as the bride. You just know it's not going to end well. Then again it was that or Phil Oakey's directional haircuts. Talk about a battle for the bathroom ...

scarlet-blue said...

Pete: Alas, all eighties brides aspired to look like Princess Di. Bless 'er.
Phil was fashionable at the time... though I don't think he often wore the denim shirt. He was a style icon... especially famous for his haircuts...

Kate: With a fringe covering half of the face, none of us could really see where we were going!
The Landlord at my local nick-named me 'Liz' after Liz Taylor because of my passion for diamante jewellery... oh, but it was fun..

The hair isn't so bad.

Diamante Miss S - more is more. My proudest possessions are a pair of my Dutch auntie's fab 40's huge drop earrings - weigh a ton but she was in the Resistance. Swarovski is a girl's best friend *Bling* x

Gadjo Dilo said...

Oh, Jerry Lee, I'd forgotten how great he was - thanks Scarley!

scarlet-blue said...

Pete: I'm pleased you approve of something and the WV is on form this week!

Kate: I have a weighty diamante cuff that I bought at a flea market for £15... it's my pride and joy and hasn't lost its lustre. I lost my chandelier earrings at a party though... Pat Butcher eat your eat out!

Gadj: I was thinking of linking to your Moscow jukebox. I'm still quite taken with your 2nd video.

I actually kind of like the hair when I watch the video again again. The song isn't growing on me though.

scarlet-blue said...

*Of course I meant 'Pat Butcher eat your heart out..'
I have food on the brain...
Anyhow,

Pete: I should hope that hair is growing on you as well. Pop over to Gadjo's jukebox and view the second video down. It's what they were listening to in Moscow.. probably in the eighties. This is growing on me.

Great Balls ON Fire is more like it!

Why you dear, darling, wonderful thing..I am tickled pink by your concern. As the dull throbbing has finally subsided I suspect that I shall be back in the saddle by day's end.

One discovery made whilst experiencing a voluntary evisceration of my reproductive system, was that my perplexing propensity to merrily overstep the boundaries of too much information, is as limitless as it is intoxicating.

The Truth my Dear, shall set you free!

Doesnt Phil sport a Number One these days? Loved Dennis Quaid as Jerry Lee Lewis and of course Peggy Lee's Fever is to die for :)

scarlet-blue said...

Mr Coppens: Pleased that you liked the tune! Hopefully the fire will subside... and the fever...
Too much information? No Sir, it is always an education to visit you.

Miss Cakes: Yep, Phil now sports a skinhead and he's not as much of a swoon-fest as he used to be. Think he's stopped wearing make-up as well...
Pleased that you liked the Jukebox.

I've rarely seen and heard anything that weird before. I kind of like the first one.

A superb Jerry Lee Lewis.

Ad Peggy Lee is always a wonder.

Good to see that fame didn't spoil Phil the boys, and girls, they're still hanging out in high-rise unspoilt-by-progress flats.

scarlet-blue said...

Pete: So you weren't taken with the second one then? Interesting though though aren't they?

Kev: Thank you Kev. It's my hommage to feverish balls.

Wendy: And they're still auditioning for a part on Eastenders. One day....

I love Peggy Lee. When I left school, I jumped out of a gian box and stripped to 'I'm a Woman' much to the shock of my colleagues :-)
