A Brief Update

My Mum had to have a cancerous lump removed from her breast on Friday. Luckily the cancer hadn't spread to the lymph gland and for the time being all is well. Many thanks to everybody who stopped by to leave kind words of support on my previous post... even though you probably didn't know what the hell I was blathering on about.
Anyhow, onwards and upwards. Chin up, tits out... and I shall carry on, as always, in the best possible taste...

I wish your mom good health and a speedy recovery.

Enjoy the time you have with her. You are both lucky to still have each other. And we are lucky to have you.

I wish you both the best and much peace and strength for the coming days. You will both be in my thoughts.

Dave said...

If I may, I shall include you both in my prayers. Wishing you well.

From your post, I figured something serious like this was going on, and though it's less than the best thing to happen, it's the best news given the circumstances.

I, too, have 'lurkers' within the family and I'm with eroswings on how it all goes from there.

Hope you don't have anyone's eye out with your tits...

That's good news, Miss Scarlet, I hope she makes a speedy recovery. Poor Babs Windsor, she picked the wrong bloke to show her tits to, didn't she?

I did wonder, in view of what I've just been through, if this is what you were writing about. I hope everthing goes as well as it has for me. Big hugs.

My best wishes to your Mum, Scarlet. When it's all said and done good health is the most important thing.

Fingers crossed, Scarlet. What a worrying time for both of you.

And thanks for the Barbara Winsdor laugh. That really is a classic clip. It didn't look as if anyone had silicone implants in those days.

KAZ said...

Relieved for mum and here's hoping you will both continue to blather on for a very long time.

Mr XL: Hugs back!

Mr Swings: Thank you, we've been very lucky. And you are spot on in your recent post.

Dave: Thanks and I'm loving the tulips.

Mr Whirly: Yep, it is the best news. I'm relieved and drained at the same time.

Mr Bananas: Ha ha, yes she probably is!

Jane: I thought of you a lot, and it kept me optimistic. Hugs back!

Mr Marks: More pics of a scantily clad Fields will probably help....????

Fairyhedgehog: Yes, it has been very worrying.
Definitely now in need of light relief!

Kaz: Many thanks! And here's to blathering - I will raise my mug of tea as I haven't started on the champagne yet!

I meant to say earlier, I know Mr Dave has already offered some help, but he really was a tower of strength to me. If you need it, go and see him.

He might give you a nice tulip.

Or let you suck his creme egg.

More hand holding, and a bit of sympathetic hair stroking...and prayers chucked in for good measure.

This has reminded me to take better care of my own health so that my son never has to go through what you have had to. Not, I realise, that I can actually ensure that, but it's worth a try.

Well done for getting through it, and for not having cracked open that champers: I think I'd have spent the whole weekend mildly squiffy.

Sorry to hear that your mum and you have had to go through this - best of luck to her. Big hugs.

Warm hugs to you and your mum, Scarlet. So glad to hear it hadn't spread. Hope that is the end of it.

Now you can relax a bit. Crack open that champagne, girl!

I'm very glad your mum's op went well, best wishes to her for a speedy recovery and your family for having to deal with the worry.

And for yourself, have a big virtual hug and a pat on the rump with a wet kipper.

That's good news Scarlet. Hang on to that and positive thinking all round. Things ain't what they used to be. Thank God. I'll say a prayer before bed-time.

Oh, best wishes to your mum, Scarley. (No, I had no idea at the time what you were blathering on about!) Wasn't Bernard Bresslaw adorable in Carry On Camping: another underated actor, in my opinion.

Clyde said...

Hey sweets
Same deal with my Mum----and she had many more years of running my life.
Oh, and they start to think about their mortality and will try to have more say in your life
Hug Mum for us all and tell her that she has a special daughter

Scarlet-Blue said...

Pat: You're right, things have changed. My Mum went in on Friday and was out by Sunday. I was amazed. And I do believe in positive thinking.

Gadj: Thanks Gadj! Yep, Bernard was in 14 Carry On films. He always looked to me to be a gentle giant.

Clyde: Thank you Clyde, will do! And I will look out for any extra interfering!!

Had a feeling it could be something like this but I'm not very good with words so will just echo what everyone else has said. Sounds like it was caught in time, so fingers crossed and all the best to you both.

Scarlet-Blue said...

Betty: Hello, yes I find stuff like this difficult to put into words as well.
I think my mum has been very lucky and she noticed the lump early, I will be more vigilent with self examination in future.
Thanks.

Eryl Shields said...

That's a really good idea. Yikes though, I will need my hand to be held very tightly for a while.

Scarlet-Blue said...

Eryl: We can set up a special blog for it?! Have a few mini rants on there.
I gave up for two years, but when my dog died I started again. I must say I really did feel better for not smoking. I started when I was 15... and eventually had a 30 a day habit before I quit. I'm on about 13 a day now... but I don't want it to get completely out of hand.

Eryl Shields said...

Great, so how, and when, do we begin? The only time I ever gave up was when I once thought I was pregnant, as soon as I found out I wasn't I began again. I only started when I was 28 which is quite shocking as I should have known better by then. XXX

Scarlet-Blue said...

Eryl: Eek!!! When's best for you? I'll need to psyche up for a bit. Shall we choose a date in May?
